【CONCEPT】
A good work can at a glance become a tiny fable not requiring much explanation. Just one look at it and you know what the creator is appealing for. “I Need Soil” may be the appeal of a tiny tree root, but one senses that in the fragile environment that envelopes humanity, the nutrients we need come from moist Mother Earth, which can provide bountiful land on which we thrive and not from being raised in a glass bottle. With no way to sink its root and worried about being lost, in a totally deserted space, it cannot find an organic garden upon which it can rely, or any space in which it can stretch out and take root. Even though from the outside this is the very image of being protected, in fact it is subject to being prematurely snuffed out. In order to seek survival, the tiny tree root struggles as best it can to use an impossible breakthrough to stay alive. Finally, finally, that slender and fragile gossamer root due to its determination to live, break through the confinement of glass. In this great Nature coldly damaged and polluted by modern man, can we succeed in breathing air with ease? Standing in front of the work, we who ponder “life finding its own way out” should give it some thought!
【INTRODUCTION】
This is a composite creation from different materials that really has a story to tell. The gossamer root of the small tree must depend on the immense strength and resilience as well as excellent ductility of gold to convey the minutest detail. The spread of extremely lifelike tree roots is layer after layer of shouting, as if slender threads bleating. The glass bottle is a green house metaphor, like a constricted environment where it is difficult for living roots to develop, it appears to be a protective layer, but in fact is in no way sustainable, giving us food for thought. It was extremely difficult to seamlessly join the gold roots with the glass. It is hoped that this creation rich in beauty can lead modern people to penetrate the limits of pollution sources and move on to attain the state of pristine land on which we can survive and all life can thrive.
